10-Minute Blackberry Chia Jam

A quick and healthy alternative to traditional jam – thickened naturally with chia seeds. Perfect on toast, pancakes, or stirred into yogurt.

Ingredients
  

  • 300 g blackberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 tbsp honey (or maple syrup)
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tbsp water

Equipment

  • 1 Small saucepan
  • 1 Fork (or masher)
  • 1 Glass jar

Method
 

  1. Add the blackberries and water to a small saucepan. Simmer gently for about 5 minutes until the berries soften.
  2. Mash with a fork or lightly blend for a smoother texture.
  3. Stir in honey or maple syrup.
  4. Mix in the chia seeds and stir well.
  5. Let cool for 5 minutes – the jam will thicken as the chia seeds absorb liquid.

Notes

  • Store in a clean glass jar in the fridge for up to 1 week.
  • Works equally well with raspberries, strawberries, or blueberries.
  • Kid-friendly, refined-sugar free, and ready in minutes.
