Method
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Spread chopped dandelion roots on a baking tray and roast for 15–20 minutes, until dark brown and fragrant.
- Let cool, then grind the roasted roots into coarse grounds.
- Add 1 tbsp grounds per cup of water to a saucepan.
- Bring to a boil, then simmer 10 minutes.
- Strain into mugs and serve hot with milk or honey, if desired.
Notes
💡 Tip: For a deeper, coffee-like flavor, mix in roasted chicory root or barley.
⚠️ Note: Dandelion is mildly detoxifying – enjoy in moderation if new to herbal tonics.
