A simple, earthy autumn snack: sautéed porcini mushrooms with garlic and thyme, served on golden toasted bread. Perfect with a glass of wine or as a cozy starter.

Ingredients
  

  • 150 g Fresh porcini mushrooms washed and sliced
  • 2 slices Rustic bread
  • 1 clove Garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil or butter
  • 1 sprig Fresh thyme or ½ tsp dried
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • sprinkle of grated Parmesan optional

Equipment

  • 1 Frying pan
  • 1 Knife & cutting board
  • 1 Wooden spoon
  • 1 Toaster or grill pan

Method
 

  1. Toast the bread slices until golden and crisp.
  2. Heat olive oil or butter in a frying pan. Add garlic and thyme, sauté briefly until fragrant.
  3. Add sliced porcini mushrooms and cook for 4–5 minutes until tender and lightly browned. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Spoon the mushrooms onto the toasted bread.
  5. Serve warm. Optional: finish with a sprinkle of Parmesan.

Notes

⚠️ Safety: Only use porcini or wild mushrooms if 100% positively identified.
💡 Tip: Add a splash of white wine while sautéing for extra depth of flavor.
