Fire Cider (Mild Version)

A spicy winter tonic made with apple cider vinegar, herbs, and honey. Energizing, immune-boosting, and warming.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 ml raw apple cider vinegar
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped (or 2 tbsp dried garlic)
  • 4 cm ginger, sliced (or 1 tbsp dried ginger)
  • 2 chili pepper, sliced (or 1 dried chili)
  • 1-2 sprigs fresh rosemary optional
  • 2 tbsp raw honey

Equipment

  • 1 Large glass jar with lid
  • 1 Measuring spoons
  • 1 Strainer
  • 1 Funnel (for bottling)
  • 1 Bottle 500 ml

Method
 

  1. Place garlic, ginger, chili, and rosemary (if using) in a clean glass jar.
  2. Pour apple cider vinegar over the herbs until completely covered.
  3. Seal the jar and store in a dark, cool place for 3–4 weeks. Shake daily.
  4. Strain through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth in a bottle
  5. Stir in honey to taste, adjusting sweetness.

Notes

 
  • Take 1–2 tbsp daily as a tonic shot, or dilute with warm water.
  • Can also be used as a salad dressing base for extra flavor.
  • Keeps up to 6 months in a cool cupboard.
  • Fresh garlic and ginger give the strongest medicinal effect.
  • Dried alternatives are safer for long-term storage and reduce spoilage risk.
  • Always ensure fresh ingredients are fully submerged in vinegar to prevent mold.
