Ingredients
  

  • 500 ml vodka or brandy
  • 2 tbsp dried angelica root or 3 tbsp fresh, chopped
  • 1 tbsp honey or sugar optional
  • orange peel, star anise, or coriander seed optional additions

Equipment

  • Clean glass bottle or jar with lid
  • Fine strainer or cheesecloth
  • Funnel for bottling

Method
 

  1. Add angelica root (and optional spices) to a clean glass jar.
  2. Pour over vodka or brandy and seal tightly.
  3. Store in a cool, dark place for 3โ€“4 weeks, shaking gently every few days.
  4. Strain through fine mesh or cheesecloth and bottle.
  5. Sweeten with a little honey if desired.
  6. Let rest another week before serving.
