Calendula Oil (Still Blooming)

A gentle herbal oil made by infusing calendula petals in mild oil. Traditionally used to soothe the skin, calm irritation, and promote healing.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 jar Fresh or dried calendula petals
  • 1 jar Mild oil (such as olive oil, almond oil, or sunflower oil)

Equipment

  • 1 Clean glass jar with lid
  • 1 Wooden spoon
  • 1 Fine strainer or cheesecloth
  • 1 Dark glass bottle for storage

Method
 

  1. Fill a clean glass jar halfway with calendula petals.
  2. Pour mild oil over the petals until fully submerged. Stir to remove air bubbles.
  3. Seal the jar and place it on a sunny windowsill. Let infuse for 2–4 weeks, shaking gently every few days.
  4. Strain through a cheesecloth into a dark glass bottle.
  5. Store in a cool, dark place. Use within 1 year.

Notes

⚠️ Safety: Always ensure petals are dry before infusing to prevent mold.
💡 Tip: Calendula oil can be used as a gentle massage oil, skin moisturizer, or base for homemade salves and balms.
