A soothing forest-scented oil made by infusing fresh pine needles in a mild carrier oil. Warming, cleansing, and perfect for skin care or massage.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup fresh Scots pine needles lightly crushed
  • 250 ml carrier oil sunflower, olive, or almond
  • a few juniper berries or rosemary sprigs for extra aroma optional

Equipment

  • Clean glass jar with lid
  • Wooden spoon or chopsticks for stirring
  • Fine strainer or cheesecloth
  • Dark glass bottle for storage

Method
 

  1. Lightly crush the pine needles to release their scent.
  2. Place them in a clean, dry glass jar.
  3. Pour the carrier oil over the needles, ensuring they are fully covered.
  4. Stir gently to remove any air bubbles.
  5. Infuse on a sunny windowsill for 2–3 weeks, shaking occasionally.
  6. Strain through cheesecloth and pour into a dark glass bottle.
  7. Store in a cool, dark place for up to 6 months.

Notes

💡 Tip: Use as massage oil for sore muscles or add a few drops to bathwater for a forest-scented soak.
⚠️ Note: For external use only. Avoid during pregnancy or on broken skin. Always ensure correct identification of *Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris)*.
